The gowns at the Golden Globes tended towards extremes of color: most actresses wore either white or black. Penelope Cruz looked absolutely stunning in a black scoop-necked gown with a nipped in waist and cascading tiers of tulle, custom-designed for her by her good friend Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel.
Penelope accessorized with yellow and white diamond flower earrings from Chopard: each earring has 10 carats of diamonds. She wore an updo, of course -- when you have 20 carats of Chopard diamonds in your ears, you wear an updo.
America Ferrera, who stars in one of our favorite shows, Ugly Betty looked lovely in an indigo gown custom-designed for her by designer Brian Reyes.
Jennifer Lopez avoided Beyonce's mistake of wearing a Grammy dress to the Golden Globes. JLo looked gorgeous in an elegant black, one-shoulder Marchesa gown which featured gold trm and a plunging back. We really loved her 60's hairdo -- it was so Raquel Welch. About her choice of a gown, Jennifer explained: "My husband loved it. That's usually the deciding factor."
She accessorized her ensemble with 10 carat yellow and white diamond earrings set in yellow and black gold and a huge yellow and white diamond ring from Lorraine Schwartz. On her, it all worked perfectly.
