Vending machines can be useful if you're stuck somewhere and have a sudden craving for a Snickers bar or a bag of Doritos. But what if you don't crave junk food, but some really high-end moisturizer that you forgot to pack in your carry on bag? Or some Frederic Fekkai styling gel? A new company called Utique has just what you need: a luxury vending machine that stocks high end beauty products, and the occasional gourmet chocolate bar.
This new vending machine allows customers to see the product, get a sample, see a video about how to use it and read the ingredient list. If you like the product, swipe your credit card and you're on your way. They'll be available in high end spas, boutique hotels, airports and upscale malls after the company launches the first machine at Studio at Fred Segal in Santa Monica this month. Brands and products that are already on board include Malin + Goetz, Clark's Botanicals, MD Skincare, Smashbox Cosmetics, Frédéric Fekkai, Phix energy supplements and Dylan's Candy Bars.
