Apple Customers Riot, Egg Apple Store Over Lack of iPhone 4S in Beijing
Apple fans in China rioted when they were told the new iPhone 4S would not be available. Hundreds of customers waited overnight in freezing temperatures for the new iPhone. Then they were told in the morning that the iPhone would not be available. Apple told AllThingsD they were unable
to open the store because of the enormous crowd.
This was a recipe for chaos and madness. The iPhone store was egged. Apple security people were attacked and punched by frustrated Apple customers. Beijing police eventually moved in to clear the area. Some people were dragged away from the store by police.
