TMZ: Tiger Woods and Wife Fought Over Rachel Uchitel
The Tiger Woods car accident story just gets more and more dramatic. TMZ.com now reports
that Tiger's lacerations on his face were caused by his wife Elin after an argument over allegations that he is having an affair with nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel. Elin has also given two different stories to different law enforcement officers as to what exactly happened that night.
The Windemere Police Department says Tiger's wife went outside, saw that her husband had struck a fire hydrant and a tree, and then went back inside the house for a golf club to use to try and extricate him from the vehicle. But we've learned Nordegren told a very different story to the Florida Highway Patrol, and it does not involve going back in the house for a club. Our sources will not allow us to be more specific.
And we've learned there was no blood found on the steering wheel of Tiger's SUV -- putting into serious doubt that Tiger sustained his injuries from the crash.
As we first reported, Tiger had a conversation with a friend yesterday, in which he said his wife had confronted him over reports he was involved with another woman ... and that his wife scratched his face up during the argument. Tiger told the friend he then left the house, started driving off and his wife then came out with a golf club, striking the vehicle. Tiger then became distracted and hit the hydrant and then a nearby tree.
Meanwhile, The National Enquirer is standing pat on its allegations that Tiger has been having an affair with Rachel for quite awhile. Rachel denies she's had an affair with Tiger, but the Enquirer says it has proof.
The Enquirer is reporting exclusively in its print edition that the 34-year-old brunette, who has a reputation for dating married celebrities, has been telling friends about a jet-set liaison with 33-year-old Tiger that began in June.
Multiple sources, who passed polygraph tests, say Rachel told them that she and Tiger also stay in touch during his frequent travels through phone calls and "sexting," sending each other racy text messages on their cell phones.
One close friend of Rachel's -- Ashley Samson -- told The Enquirer: "Rachel told me, 'I'm having an affair with Tiger Woods. We're in love!'"
And while Rachel emphatically says she's no home wrecker, she recently had a disastrous affair with David Boreanaz, the star of Bones. The affair even continued while his wife was pregnant and was reported exclusively by Star magazine.

Rachel, who denies an affair with Tiger, told one media outlet that she hardly knows Ashley, who is quoted on-the-record in our story. Rachel said she wasn't even sure of the woman's last name.
However, we can reveal that Rachel is such a close friend of Ashley's that she recently invited Ashley to join her and some other pals on a trip to Spain.
