Sarah Jessica Parker was the guest judge on last week's episode of Project Runway and one of the cool prizes was that the winning design would be featured in Sarah Jessica's new inexpensive fashion line, Bitten. Bitten is exclusively available at Steve & Barry's stores nationwide.
Sarah Jessica chose Victorya Hong's outfit (a trapeze dress with a tiny, plaid racer back vest) as the winner. Her outfit was the inspiration for
an actual addition to Bitten's Holiday
collection. A stretch-cotton dress ($19.98) similar to Hong's
design is available at Steve & Barry's stores across the country
in both black and burgundy, as is a
separate plaid vest ($14.98) in grey/black.
The actual winning design is being displayed in Steve & Barry's flagship New York City store at the Manhattan Mall.
"I loved Victorya's design immediately when I saw it during my appearance on Project Runway, and am very excited that Bitten shoppers will have the opportunity to add our interpretation of the dress to their closets," said Sarah Jessica Parker.
We love Sarah Jessica Parker and think it's great that she wanted to design a fashion line that is affordable for those with a very limited fashion budget. She certainly didn't have to go that route when she decided to design a line of clothing; she could have done something much more upscale that probably would have been more profitable. At this price point, the profit margins are going to be small, even with the inexpensive fabrics and a high volume. The line has had mixed reviews but is doing very well, according to reports. The line reminds of the kinds of clothing seen at Forever 21, but the sizes go up to 22.
