Off Duty Police Pepper Spray Shoppers at Walmart in North Carolina
Off duty police officers who had been hired as private security by Wal-Mart for Black Friday pepper sprayed customers while trying to subdue a man. Kingston, North Carolina police told WITN that they used pepper spray to quell a disturbance in the store.
In this video posted (sideways) on Youtube you can see a man in a black baseball cap to the right. He appears to be having words with one of the police officers. Suddenly two of the officers force him onto a table and handcuff him. They lead him away. For the rest of the video, you can see families covering their eyes and mouths -- there was quite a bit of pepper spray in the air, according to bystanders.
The woman that posted this video said, "We were shopping at Walmart in Kinston, NC. People began grabbing for things ahead of time and pushing each other. The police sprayed pepper spray into the crowd. Children, elderly and disabled people were in the area but police sprayed nondiscriminatly (sic). Many had to be taken to the hospital due to reactions from being sprayed." Take a look:
