Woman Pepper Sprays Other Shoppers at Los Angeles Wal-Mart on Black Friday
The L.A. Times is reporting that there was an incident involving pepper spray at a Wal-Mart in Porter Ranch, a neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles, during the Black Friday shopping event. The woman reportedly used pepper spray to gain a competitive shopping advantage over other shoppers. One customer was also reportedly punched in the face as she tried to get a crock pot for her grandmother.
Another L.A. Timesarticle quotes Los Angeles Fire Capt. James Carson as saying the woman using the pepper spray was "competitive shopping." She apparently used the pepper spray in several areas of the store to keep other shoppers away. The article says twenty shoppers in the Wal-mart complained of eye, skin and throat irritations from the pepper spray. This all made for a very bad Black Friday experience for many of the shoppers.
Police are still looking for the woman who used the pepper spray inside the Wal-Mart on Black Friday. There is another article about the incident here.
NBC Los Angeles says the incident started over an Xbox 360. The story is just breaking so it may take time before all the details come out. Take a look:
