CNN Money has some good advice about saving money on Black Friday. Retailers are doing everything to get you to blow your budget, so don't get carried away. Here are their five steps to avoiding costly mistakes
on Black Friday:
1) Don't open a store credit card;
2) Don't buy the extended warranty;
3) Don't buy gift cards: 2/3
of people will spend more
than the face value of the card,
meaning they will buy their own present
(this doesn't apply if the recipient
asks for one, of course);
4)
Beware of layaway plans with
onerous terms; and
5) never pay full price.
