Harry Potter Makes $125 Million in Opening Weekend
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 made $125 million in the U.S. alone during its opening weekend in theaters. Box Office Mojo reports that the opening was the sixth biggest-grossing opening weekend of all-time. It was also a new franchise high for the Harry Potter series.
Deathly Hallows was followed by Megamind, which added over $16 million this weekend to bring its box office total to over $130 million. Unstoppable came and third in made $13 million during its second weekend in theaters. Unstoppable was followed by Due Date and The Next Three Days.
