Lady Gaga shares some amazing stuff with her fans via Twitter. Apparently, she bleaches her own hair. Hey, so does Dita Von Teese, who darkens her naturally blonde hair herself. Gaga shared the pain of bleaching with her little monsters, tweeting:
Bleaching my hair! Scalp burning like a champ. A real blond loves a #PeroxideShot.
NOTE TO BLEACHED BLONDES WHO ARE TONING: do not fear the sting of toner! Wait five minutes and it's just so painful your scalp will numb.
She must be doing the platinum blonde all the way down to the roots look, a la Gwen Stefani. That's the color that Marilyn Monroe called "pillowcase white." It's a major pain to keep up if your hair is naturally dark. Our hair colorist says that to keep that kind of look perfect, you have to touch up the roots every few days, being careful not to get bleach on any hair but the new growth. It's
annoying and expensive to head to the salon all the time, so perhaps that's why she does it herself. Her hair always looks fab, so clearly she knows what she's doing.
