Research in Motion's New Tablet Will Cost Under $500
Bloombergreports that Research in Motion (RIM) plans to sell its BlackBerry PlayBook tablet computer for under $500. The iPad's cheapest Wi-Fi-only model starts at $499, but costs over $800 for its most expensive model. The PlayBook goes on sale in the first quarter of 2011, so it won't be available in time for the holidays.
There will be new tablets coming out this year, but most of them are arriving in the first quarter of next year. Some analysts are forecasting tablet prices to start falling as all the new tablets come on the market.
