MacRumors.com has obtained a letter from Apple to musc labels that says APple will be increasing the length of some of its song music previews on iTunes from 30 seconds to 90 seconds. Songs have to be at least 2 minutes and 30 seconds long for iTunes to offer the 90 second sample.
We are pleased to let you know that we are preparing to increase the length of music previews from 30 seconds to 90 seconds on the iTunes Store in the United States. We believe that giving potential customers more time to listen to your music will lead to more purchases.
Lala, a website Apple purchased and shut down, would let users preview a complete song.
