CBS mentions several grocery retailers including Stop & Shop, Giant, Meijer, Publix and United Supermarkets that are offering free antiobiotics to shoppers with a valid prescription. Some of the offers expire on March 21st, 2009. Walmart started the cheap drug trend when they started selling hundreds of drugs for $4.00 in 2006. Retail Analyst Burt Flickinger told CBS that "It's war in the stores. The winner will be the one that does the most for consumers."
