Amazon.com Launches PayPhrase

PayPhraseAmazon.com has launched PayPhrase. The new system from Amazon.com is an attempt to make online payments easier. PayPhrase lets you use an easy-to-remember shortcut to payment and shipping information in your Amazon.com account. A phrase like "feisty mango" can be all your need to place an order. You can use your PayPhrase to shop at Amazon.com and across the web. It can be used for Express Checkout without sharing your credit card. Amazon says you can also give PayPhrase allowances to your kids so they can shop online within limits you set. Amazon customers can create as many as 20 different phrases to use with PayPhrase.

The service also works with Amazon's partner sites like DKNY. The Bits blog has an example of that here. Bits also notes that a phrase can only be used once so if a lot of phrases are created it may get more and more difficult to come up with an original PayPhrase that is easy to remember. Amazon.com's "fesity mango" example is probably already taken. You can find out more about PayPhrease and watch and explanatory video Amazon.com here on Amazon's website.
