Paranormal Activity 2 won the weekend box office with a huge $41.5 million weekend. The horror sequel avoided the Blair Witch curse with its huge debut. Jackass 3-D fell from the top spot but had a big second weekend in theaters and made $22.1 million. Red also did well in its second weekend in theaters and made $15 million. Hereafter, which stars Matt Damon as a reluctant psychic, made $12 million. The Social Network continues to draw crowds. It made another $7.3 million to bring its box office total to nearly $73 million. The Social Network was followed by Secretariat, Life as We Know It and Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole.
