MacNN reports that Apple, Inc. plans to open 40 to 50 stores in its 2011 fiscal year. Half of the new stores will be located outside the United States. Apple also plans to renovate and expand an unspecified number of its existing stores.
MacNN also says Apple opened 24 stores in its fourth quarter. Apple recently opened its largest mall store - a 6,000 square foot store in Saint Louis Galleria. 16 of the 24 new stores Apple opened in Q4 were outside the U.S. These news stores include the new flagship store in London's Covent Garden.
