Filene's Basement is Closing Six Stores by the End of the Year
Filene's Basement is struggling again two years after being taken over by Syms. Boston.com reports that four Filene's Basement stores are closing in Massachusetts. The stores will close by the end of the year. Boston.com says the stores have been running newspaper ads featuring discounts of 20% to 40% off.
Boston.com also reports that Filene's Basement will also close two stores in Ohio and Maryland before the end of 2011. This will leave Filene's with 20 stores nationwide.
