1,704-pound Pumpkin is Largest Ever Grown in California
Leonardo Urena from Napa, California won the annual pumpkin contest at the 41st annual Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival with a massive 1,704-pound pumpkin. The monster pumpkin is the largest ever grown in the state of California.
A special song about growing giant pumpkins was sung as the festival. Part of the lyrics for the song include, "I've seen them weigh the pumpkins. Each year beats the last. And the growers talk of strategy and which field the seed was cast. As I watch the forklift haul the next, the truth soaks slowly in. It's the biggest prize for the biggest size, but everybody wins."
