Netflix Decides Not to Launch Qwikster, DVDs to Remain at Neflix
Netflix has decided not to launch Qwikster. Netflix announced in late September that it was going to spinoff its DVD by Mail service into a new company called Qwikster. The company has now decided against the spinoff following many customer complaints. The DVD by mail business will remain at Netflix. Netflix said in a statement on its blog that customers found the idea of Qwikster to be too complicated.
It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs.
This means no change: one website, one account, one password... in other words, no Qwikster.
Netflix's decision to split into two companies, and form Qwikster, was recently parodied on SNL in a hilarious skit.
