The Social Network Wins Weekend Box Office for Second Straight Week
The Social Network was the number one film in theaters for the second straight weekend. It made $15.5 million, bringing its box office total to $46 million. Coming in second was Life as We Know It, a comedy starring Josh Duhamel and Katherine Heigl. Secretariat, which stars Diane Lane as Penny Chenery, the owner of the racehorse Secretariat, opened in third and made $12.6 million. The top two films were all very close and it is possible the positions could change if the figures are revised Monday.
Secretariat was followed by Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, which made another $7 million. A serial killer movie called My Soul to Take opened and fifth and made $6.9 million. The Town, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and Easy A finished sixth, seventh and eighth. You can find the complete box office report here.
