Miuccia Prada Embraces Car Culture for Her Spring 2012 RTW Collection

Miuccia Prada's Spring 2012 RTW show in Milan took part of its inspiration from the 50s and early 60s American car culture. Guests sat on couches that looked like cars and the models wore heels that had the rear end of a Cadilla, complete with fins and flames. Billowing skirts had cars and flames on them. The colors were bright and car prints were everywhere.

There were fun separates, such as below the knee skirts with knife pleats, bomber jackets in satin or leather and heavy satin evening coats. The jackets were full and boxy, with dropped shoulders and no fastenings. The handbags came in a variety of colors, including bright red. The jewelry was huge -- statement necklaces were in abundance. Take a look:
