It's been nearly twenty years since Jean Paul Gaultier created the cone bra for Madonna's Blonde Ambition tour in 1990. Now, once again, the cone bra has emerged as a fashion must for Spring/Summer 2010. In the front row for Gaultier's Paris show was Janet Jackson, Rihanna, Catherine Deneuve, Katy Perry and Dita Von Teese. They were entranced by the show which featured lots of lingerie looks, cone bras, cone hip panniers, cone shoulder pads and even derriere pads.
Denim came in dark and acid washed looks, which featured the return of overalls. There were also combat looks, with cool, lace-up, stompy-looking black boots (which Rihanna and Janet will be fighting over). In between the rock and roll ensembles were some elegant trench coats, skirts and jackets in khaki, olive, black and blush (that one was shown on the runway with thigh high white stockings, sans pants, but will no doubt be available for purchase as a lovely suit).
