Apple to Refund $32.5 Million for Kids In-App Purchases as Result of FTC Settlement

Apple will refund $32.5 million for kids in-app purchases to consumers as a result of a settlement with the FTC. CNN reports that the FTC says Apple left a 15-minute window open after entering a password so their children could buy virtual game items. Parents were apparently unaware of this window. They thought they were just using the password for the virtual game items their child was purchasing. They were unaware their kids could keep accumulating unlimited additional charges for 15 minutes following the authorization.
