Rumors are swirling that Amazon will soon be launch some new gadgets, including a 10-inch Kindle Fire tablet and a smartphone. Amazon already offers 7-inch an 8.9-inch versions of Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD tablets. It also sells a 6-inch Kindle Paperwhite.
that Amazon will begin production of a 10.1-inch tablet in the third quarter. CNET says the new Kindle will offer a 2,560x1,600-pixel density display - 300 pixels per inch - which is denser than Apple's Retina iPad.
The smartphone rumor comes from the Wall Street Journal
(WSJ). The WSJ
says the smartphone will feature retina-tracking technology and a 3D screen. The WSJ
says, "Users may be able to navigate through content using just their eyes." Eye tracking technology does exist. Tobii has displayed
its gaze technology at CES. If Amazon really wants all this technology in its first smartphone then it may be planning on attempting to leapfrog the competition.
