A 62 Gun Salute for Queen Elizabeth's 85th Birthday

If you were in London yesterday and didn't know it was Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee year and that it was the monarch's birthday, you might have wondered why the cavalry was out and cannons were going off. The Royal Gibraltar Regiment gave Queen Elizabeth a 62-gun salute in honor of her 85th birthday. In Hyde Park, a 41-gun salute took place, although the queens "official" birthday is June 16th.
