Julianne Moore was a nominee for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture -- Comedy Or Musical for her role in The Kids Are All Right
. She lost to co-star Annette Bening. Julianne took a bit of a fashion risk which did not pay off on the red carpet. She wore a fuchsia pink gown by Alber Elbaz for Lanvin which featured one long sleeve. The proportions of the bodice were all wrong and it made it look like there was a fit issue. She wore a stunning gold and diamond Bulgari necklace which was incorporated into the neckline, which we loved.
But that puffy oversleeve didn't work at all and the halter neckline should have been simplified to showcase the necklace. Also, fuchsia is not her best color (at least in the lighting of the photos we saw). We know redheads get tired of being told to wear emerald green or midnight blue, but fuchsia is just too far off the flattering color spectrum to work with her hair and coloring.
Julianne wore Lanvin nude ankle-strap pumps and carried a vintage clutch bag.
