Sky High Pucci Wedges For Summer

Photo of Pucci wedges

We really are embracing this sky high wedge shoes trend for summer. The wedge style is much more comfortable than a stiletto heel of the same height. So long as you do your foot treatments at night and eschew lotion in the morning, you won't slide around in them. We adore these brightly colored wedges in the signature bright Pucci print. They feature a sky-high 4" heel, a printed velvet terry upper, a leather footbed, a woven platform wedge and a rubber sole to help you stay upright. The pair shown is the blue; they also come in pink/orange.

These appear to be selling out of the most popular show sizes pretty fast, which is not surprising considering how cute the shoes are. They are available at Zappos.com for just under $300.00.

Microsoft Surface is Here and It's Amazing

This is just the coolest thing ever. Microsoft has launched Microsoft Surface, in which a sophisticated computer is embedded in a large, flat surface. Remember that scene in Minority Report where Tom Cruise's detective character is standing in front of a holographic display and he manipulates the data with his hands, kind of like a symphony conductor? Well, it's just like that, except it's on a table and it's not a hologram.

The surface recognizes your digital camera, downloads your photos and you can sort or resize them just using your hands. The first units will be for commercial use, but we think this might be the beginning of the exciting future that was promised to us by Gene Roddenberry in Star Trek. Just watch the video -- and be amazed!

  • Nissan Warns Cellphones Deactivate Car Keys

Nissan is warning U.S. customers not to place their "intelligent keys" next to their cellphones, because close proximity of the items causes the formerly smart keys to become really dumb and not remember how to start your car.
The automaker is asking customers driving new models of two of its flagship sedans to keep their car keys and cellphones at least an inch apart to avoid disabling the "intelligent keys." Cellphones kept near Nissan's I-Keys -- wireless devices designed to allow drivers to enter and start their cars at the push of a button -- can erase the electronic code on the keys, rendering them unable to unlock or start the cars.

The problem has occurred on the 2007 Nissan Altima and Infiniti G35 sedans -- two of their top-selling models, the company said on Thursday. "We discovered that if the I-Key touches a cellphone, outgoing or incoming calls have the potential to alter the electronic code inside the I-Key," Nissan spokesman Kyle Bazemore said. "The car won't start and the I-Key cannot be reprogrammed," he added.

The problem has occurred in a "very small percentage" of cars sold, Bazemore said. He also said a new version of the I-Key would be available in the fall. Bazemore said current owners have been notified of the potential glitch via mail and can get new keys from dealers if they encounter the problem.
Doesn't sound like the intelligent keys are so smart, after all -- at least the ones from Nissan. This glitch needs to be fixed immediately. Anyone could put a cellphone next to your keys accidentally (or they could touch in your purse) and then you'd be stranded.

    Sergio Rossi White Espadrilles

Photo of white Sergio Rossi espadrilles

If you're in the mood to be a little taller and to have your legs look much longer (and really, when are you not in the mood for that?) these Sergio Rossi sky high white espadrilles are just the thing. They have a fabric upper with a cute knotted tie and a square toe. They also feature a non-skid footbed, which is a good thing given that the shoes have a 3 3/4" heel.

These would look cute with shorts, pants or a skirt. But if you're heading to Europe and will be facing cobblestones, these are best left for a dinner out when you're taking a taxi. Because cobblestones and espadrilles together usually equal a sprained ankle -- or worse. No need to ask us how we know that: we just do.

These are available at Zappos.com for just under $400.00.

Perfect for walking the red carpet at Cannes, or for dancing the night away somewhere glamorous, these jeweled gold sandals from Roberto Cavalli are simply gorgeous.

The footbed is red satin. The sandals also feature multicolored jeweled embellishments, a gold metallic heel, metal chain straps, and a toe ring to keep your feet fully anchored while you do the samba routine that you learned by watching Dancing With the Stars. The heels are 3 1/4" high, which is almost as high as the price, which is just under $1,300.00.

These show-stoppers are available at Zappos.com.

    The Amazing SkooperBox

Photo of the Skooper BoxOne of the requirements of dog ownership is properly disposing of your darling doggie's poos that he deposits hither and thither during the evening walk. If you don't properly dispose of the poo, you could be looking at a major fine -- depending on what city you're in. But plastic bags are so environmentally-unfriendly. What to do?

Some very smart people in California have created the environmentally-friendly SkooperBox, which is made of recycled paper. You pop open the ergonomically designed box, scoop the poo, and throw away the box. The box clips onto your dog's leash, so you don't even have to carry it. The site informs us that Skooperbox breaks down in two days and is completely biodegradable, unlike plastic bags which take 1,000 years to degrade in landfills.

You can find the Skooper Box at Skooperbox.com. 30 Skooperboxes cost $11.99.

    Mario Batali's New Crocs

Photo of Mario Batali and his new Crocs Crocs has announced that super-Chef and bestselling author Mario Batali will be the new spokesperson for the new Crocs Bistro shoe.

"Crocs is very excited to announce the partnership with celebrity chef Mario Batali and the new Bistro shoe model," said Ron Snyder, CEO of Crocs. "Mario has been a long-time fan and a visible supporter of Crocs shoes, and his endorsement further validates the benefits of Crocs shoes for the restaurant and food service industry."

"It's not hard to see that I'm a supporter of Crocs, given that I wear them on a daily basis. The new Bistro model brings functionality for the kitchen to the equation producing a product that I am happy to support," said Batali.

Chef Batali says he owns a mind-boggling 50 pairs of Beach Crocs. Batali is totally into this new promotion: he's going on appearances for the company and is posting some of his fabulous recipes on Crocs.com. Now that we think of it, Batali probably does need 50 pairs of Crocs. The man is amazing: when he's not slicing and dicing other chefs on the Food Network's show Iron Chef America, he hosts his own series called "Molto Mario." He's written five cookbooks and now owns 11 restaurants in New York City, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

So, what's so great about the new Crocs? The new shoe is made for people who stand on their feet all day, like restaurant workers and nurses. The shoes have a closed toe, a special slip-resistant design, a thicker metatarsal area to help protect the top of the foot, as well as a supportive arch and foot bed circulation nubs to keep one's tootsies happy all day long.

The Bistro will retail for $39.99 and will be available in Mario Batali's signature orange color, as well as in black, chocolate, navy, red, and white. It will hit stores in late summer, 2007. We, ourselves, are not feeling the orange color vibe at all (we look terrible in orange) but do feel that the red or navy would work. And be comfy, of course.

20-Story Building For Sale on Ebay

Herald TowerThe International Herald Tribune reports that a 20-story building is up for sale on eBay. The building is the Heritage Tower and Dome Center in Battle Creek, MI. It was built in 1931.
The listing touts the 149,000-square-foot (13,843-sq. meter) structure's selling points, including its cathedral-like common area on the second floor, now used for special events; a 34-car, underground parking garage; and retail and office space on the ground floor. It is accompanied by 12 exterior and interior photos of the building.

Dore suggests that with some remodeling, it could house condominiums.

The auction's fine print makes it clear that the winning bid will not necessarily translate into a change of ownership for the building.

"By participating, you are not entering into a contract to purchase this property," a disclaimer on the listing says. "You are, however, expressing serious interest in the property and in pursuing contract discussions."
You can find the auction listing here. Bids start at $1.5 million.

    Josh Holloway and Cool Water

    Photo of Josh Holloway

Coty Inc. announced that they have hired Lost star Josh Holloway to be the new face of Davidoff Cool Water fragrance everywhere in the world, except North America. Now why he isn't the face of the fragrance in North America was not explained by the company, but we assume that there is some legal reason why he is being featured everywhere but here.

Coty asked Josh how he feels about the fragrance. "I love Cool Water because it is simple, powerful and timeless. To me, the Cool Water man is not someone who is trying to be cool, he is someone who is comfortable with his masculinity."

Our question is this: if we surreptitiously spray Cool Water around the room at a cocktail party, will all the guys suddenly look like Josh Holloway? Because that would be real selling point for the fragrance, we think.

The shoulder straps are 7" in length and it also includes ouside flap pockets. The snap closure is magnetic. The interior has a zip pocket, slip pocket and a center compartment that closes with a zipper.

    Barbie's Battle for Internet Supremacy

The toy business is a brutal one. CNET reports on Barbie's big battle for Internet supremacy. Although Barbie outsells other dolls, it is facing stiff competition online from virtual worlds that are aimed at young girls. In fact, Barbie's biggest competitor online right now is a group of virtual penguins.
Certainly, Mattel has tried to keep its brands Internet-savvy for more than a decade. Mattel's Barbie.com and EverythingGirl.com have the highest concentration of girls age 2 to 11 on the Web, according to researcher Nielsen NetRatings, but their overall audience hasn't grown much over the years.

The company is also being pressured by toys like Webkinz and an avalanche of virtual worlds designed for kids. Bratz, for example, the racier fashion dolls that have eaten into Barbie sales in recent years, plans to launch a virtual world called Bratz World (Be-Bratz.com) and a Rescue Pets (my e-pets.com) this summer.

"Mattel is the 800-pound gorilla in the toy industry, and it's worked hard to continually reinvent itself," said Lisa Bradner, senior analyst at Forrester Research. "I think they'll continue to be a very strong player, but it's hard to innovate at the speed and agility that a company like Webkinz can." The overall audience for Barbie sites has declined slightly over the last year, and has failed to grow over the last three years. According to Nielsen NetRatings, the Barbie site attracted about 1.9 million unique visitors from home and work in April 2007, down from 2.1 million in April 2006. Those numbers are in line with about 2 million visitors in the same month in 2004.

In contrast, Webkinz--plush pets with corresponding virtual homes on the Web--have exploded in popularity over the last year. In April, Webkinz attracted 3.6 million unique visitors from home and work, up from just 285,000 a year before. Webkinz has even usurped the long-reigning virtual pets site of the Web--Neopets, which went from 2.6 million unique visitors in April 2006 to 3.2 million in 2007. Another major contender in the kids category, ages 2 to 11, is Club Penguin, a virtual community of penguin avatars for children. It drew more than 4 million unique visitors in April. And Disney.com, the generalist playground of Mickey Mouse and other characters, attracted more than 11 million visitors that month.
Can Barbie hold off the hordes of adorable invading penguins and scantily-clad, big-headed Bratz dolls? We certainly hope so. We have soft spots in our hard little hearts that are reserved just for Barbie. But don't tell anyone. Especially those trashy-looking Bratz girls.

    MOMA Goes iPod

Photo of art patron using her ipodWhat a great idea! Apple, through its iTunes store, is offering lots of free podcasts from museums across the U.S. The podcasts are guided tours of various exhibitions from the museums. Museums which are participating in the program include the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), New York, Art Institute of Chicago, Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Pictured is Jill Neppel of San Francisco listening to an iPod guided tour at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art's "Picasso and American Art" exhibit which closes May 28th.

This is such a useful thing: it's so nice not to have to rent an audioguide at the museum. Not to get all Adrian Monk on you or anything, but seriously -- who knows what germs lurk in those multi-user earphones? We'd rather download the audioguide before we go and walk through the exhibit with our own iPod, blissfully listening to our own guided tour.

Christian LaCroix's Jeweled Flats For Fourth of July

Photo of Christian LaCroix red, white and blue jeweled flats

It's never too early to start thinking about a killer outfit for Fourth of July and when we saw these brilliant red, white, and blue, jeweled flats from Christian LaCroix, we knew that we had to have them immediately. The elastic back keeps them from slipping off during an energetic dance move and the square toe looks fresh and fun. A grosgrain bow and a gorgeous jewelled ornament complete the look.

Now, Monsiuer LaCroix is, of course, French, so he may have had the tricolor flag of France in mind when he designed them, but what does it matter? Whether you're in L.A., New York or Atlanta celebrating the fourth of July at a fun party, or in Paris on July 14th celebrating Bastille Day, these are the flats to wear. Preferably with some darling shorts if your event is casual, or a wonderful miniskirt if your evening party includes going out to dinner or dancing the night away. These are too fabulous to risk at the beach, even if you're in the South of France, so keep these off of the sand.

These scrumptious ballet flats are available at Zappos.com for just under $500.

Ebay Blamed for Selling Elephant Ivory Items

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting that an International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) survey has found that many elephant ivory items are listed on eBay's auction websites.
International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) said it had conducted a survey in Britain, Australia, China, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Canada and the United States and tracked more than 2200 elephant ivory items listed on eBay websites.

It found more than 90 per cent of the listings breached even eBay's own wildlife policies.

International wildlife trade laws differ from country to country and are often complex, but according to the IFAW in general it is illegal to sell carved or uncarved ivory unless it is antique and accompanied by a proof of age certificate.

The Fund says the only way to protect elephants from poachers is to shut down the markets where illegal ivory can easily be passed off as antique.
Here is what the IFAW's British Director Robbie Marsland had to say.
"As the world's largest online shop window, eBay has a special responsibility to lead the way by banning ivory from their sites," Robbie Marsland, IFAW's British director, said.

"Only a global ban on all ivory sales will remove the cover under which this criminal activity currently operates and as a result, seriously help to decrease illegal trade and the cruel and unnecessary slaughter of elephants."
Marsland wants eBay to stop selling all ivory but eBay is quoted in the article as focusing only on stopping "illegal ivory sales."

Kate Spade and the Killer Sandals

Photo of Kate Spade scorpion sandals

Kate Spade is a genius. These gorgeous black satin jeweled thong sandals are just perfect for summer. The look so lovely and refined, even sweet. Then when your date looks more closely at your lovely tootsies, he asks in amazement, "Are those black scorpions on your sandals?" "Of course. What else would they be?" you reply. And he will worship you. For the rest of the summer, at least.

Kate calls these sandals "Fleur" which means flower in French. Which just makes it all the more fabulous. Perhaps she has a pet scorpion named Fleur? In any event, these summer-making sandals retail for $353.95 at Zappos.com. Oh, and please don't try to tell us that they are actually lobsters, because clearly they are deadly black scorpions.

    America Ferrera's $10 Million Smile

Photo of America Ferrera Ugly Betty star America Ferrera has just had her smile insured for $10 million. America has been signed to be the spokesperson for Aquafresh White Trays. Not wanting to take any chances, the company insured her smile with Lloyd's of London. Aquafresh is launching its new product, called Aquafresh Write Trays, in a benevolent fashion. The company supports a program called Smiles for Success, which to raise money for Smiles for Success, a nationwide organization that provides free dental care for women transitioning from welfare to work. The organzation's focus is helping women who are trying to get their lives together. But it's hard to go on a job interview with damaged or missing teeth, so Smiles For Success gets them dental work.

America supports the organization and stated, "I'm proud to partner with Aquafresh White Trays in its commitment to support Smiles for Success – which is a great organization that provides much needed dental care to women as they're moving from welfare into the workforce. This donation from Aquafresh White Trays is a significant amount of money for this cause and will help the women they support to face the world with confidence -- and that's something to smile about."

Aquafresh will donate $1 for every box of product purchased between now and August 31, 2007. In addition, the brand will also donate $1 for every person who enters the "Beauty That Fits" sweepstakes at HowMuchIsThisSmileWorth.com for a total combined donation of up to $100,000.

The teeth whitening marketing is a big one, and it's only getting bigger. Aquafresh says that its new White Trays are closer to what you get with dentist whitening. The trays are soft and are pre-filled with whitening gel. The trays are available at major chain drugstores and retail for $34.99. They're also available online at Amazon.com. We haven't tried them, but they certainly sound promising.

    Beijing Mayor Decries Luxury Ads

As China's economy continues to expand, the country is experiencing major growing pains. Western clothing, cars and luxury items are affordable by a growing number of Chinese. As Western advertising seeps into the culture, some officials are worried that the Chinese culture is being contaminated by the West's ideas of materialism and luxury. The Beijing mayor is especially peeved by all the ads for luxury cars, jewelry and other items.
Beijing's mayor has expressed disapproval of outdoor advertisements that promote luxury and indulgence, for fear they would escalate hostility between the rich and the poor, state media said Friday. Billboards promoting expensive villas, cars and other luxury goods were often seen in major Beijing streets, said Mayor Wang Qishan during a gathering with the city's political advisors, according to the Xinhua news agency.

"Many use exaggerated terms that encourage luxury and self-indulgence which are beyond the reach of low-income groups and are therefore not conducive to harmony in the capital," he said. Apartments and villas that often cost millions yuan (hundreds of thousands of dollars) constantly remind people of the yawning income gap between the rich and the poor, Xinhua said.

The per capita disposable income of Beijing's urban residents averaged 5,900 yuan (756 dollars) in the first quarter of this year, according to the Beijing municipal statistics bureau. Those in the rural areas make even less. Anger is rising as documents filed with Chinese stock exchanges show that senior executives in banks and large state-owned firms are making annual salaries several times higher than many of the poor's lift-time earnings.
So, lets get this straight. Instead of working on policies that would enable more Chinese to afford a better standard of living, the government's answer is to take down the billboards that show the people that some people have a much higher standard of living. That will work.

Say It Isn't So: Lawsuit Alleges Pinkberry Is Not Frozen Yogurt

Los Angelinos love their Pinkberry frozen yogurt, which has developed a fanatical, cult following among trendsetters and young celebs. But, alas, a new lawsuit alleges that the frozen treat is neither yogurt, nor is it low-cal. And that has the young and chic very unhappy indeed.
"Crackberry" addicts, prepare for your favorite dessert to take a licking from California Department of Food and Agriculture officials. Their answer: Nogurt. "You can't call a product frozen yogurt unless it's mixed off-site and delivered to the site as frozen yogurt," said Steve Lyle, a department spokesman.

Pinkberry executives concede that their product is made with a powder and mixed in-store. They say it includes plain yogurt, yet they wouldn't disclose what else goes into their refreshingly tart treat. But a lawsuit might force them to take their secret recipe out of the deep freeze. This week, a civil suit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court by L.A. resident Bryan Williams, 48, who contends that Pinkberry's powdered mix lacks the "good" bacteria cultures found in yogurt.

"For lack of a better word, it's just dessert," said Williams' attorney, Michael Amir. "We're just asking for them to … tell the public the truth."

    *****

Pinkberry "is yogurt, absolutely 100%" vowed company President Young Lee, who said he's working with the state to resolve the concerns. "We are more frozen yogurt than other frozen yogurt."

Nevertheless, Pinkberry has removed written references to frozen yogurt from its website. A catchy jingle, though, still extols Pinkberry's fat-free, 25-calorie-per-ounce virtues: "Sorry ice cream, I'm dreaming of a different dessert. Pinkberry shaved ice and frozen yogurt. It doesn't feel like I'm cheating when I'm eating it, because it's healthy I feel better already."

    *****

One customer said the hype reminded her of a famous "Seinfeld" episode in which Jerry and Elaine gain weight eating loads of "nonfat" yogurt. They finally test the yogurt only to discover that it's not really fat-free. "I hope that episode wasn't foreshadowing Pinkberry's ending," one Angeleno wrote on the Giantrobot.com blog.
This is horrifying. Next they'll be telling us that coffee frappucinos are high in calories and that Paris Hilton isn't in the least bit repentant about driving with a suspended license.

    An iPod for Mom

Photo of Ipod gift set from Best BuyMother's Day is fast approaching: it's this Sunday, May 13th. We really like this promotion that Best Buy is doing: it's a gift set available only in stores (not online) that combines a 4gb Apple iPod Nano with chocolates meltaways. The set comes in a groovy polka-dot gift box and is exclusive to Best Buy. The Nano comes with earbuds and a USB connector cable for synching with your computer (and iTunes, of course). It retails for $214.99. The iPods come in either pink or silver.

Although you can't buy it online, you can see all the tech specs at BestBuy.com

Come to think of it, this would make a great gift for just about anyone, really. We think any college or high school graduate would be thrilled with this gift. And, of course, a pre-paid iTunes card would be most appreciated, especially if the recipient doesn't already own an iPod or other mp3 player.

    The Rescue of Narciso Rodriguez

Designer Narciso Rodriguez has clients who love him and an inspired talent for fashion. So why was he facing bankruptcy? It's a common story: his genius is focused on design, not business.
Few dresses have glamorized bare flesh more than the silk slip that Carolyn Bessette wore to marry John F. Kennedy Jr. in 1996. It blotted from the mind the schoolgirl roundness of Diana, it stoked the copy kings and it gave an unknown designer, Narciso Rodriguez, a very nice push.

But in recent months, behind the media blaze of his shows and his image as a successful designer, Mr. Rodriguez has been struggling. He trusted the wrong people, he said, listing lawyers and other advisers, and this trust put his business in a yoke. He could continue to plod along and hope for the best, or he could declare bankruptcy and call it a day. Instead, against the view of the fashion world as a cold-hearted place, he picked up the phone and asked for help. He called Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren, Anna Wintour, the editor in chief of Vogue, and his close friends in the parallel world of celebrity, Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld. And he told them all the same thing. "He said, 'You're not going to believe this, but I have no money,'" Ms. Karan recalled. Today, Mr. Rodriguez’s candor is being unexpectedly rewarded. Liz Claiborne, the giant American clothing manufacturer, is acquiring his upscale label.

The son of Cuban immigrants, Mr. Rodriguez got his start on Seventh Avenue in the 1980s as Ms. Karan’s assistant at Anne Klein. He then went to Calvin Klein, where he met Ms. Bessette, whose job was to look after V.I.P. clients. They grew close. It was at Cerutti, in Paris, where he went to work in the mid-'90s, that he made her wedding dress in secret. Along the way, Mr. Rodriguez honed his style of clean, seductive sportswear, its lines announcing his Cuban roots. Like his clothes, he presents an implacable air of calm. "He's so low-key sometimes," Ms. Wintour said. "And he's not a diva."

To help finance his business, Mr. Rodriguez turned to Massimo Ferretti, an Italian manufacturer whose company owns Moschino and Alberta Ferretti. Mr. Rodriguez had any number of offers, he said, but he liked Mr. Ferretti and he thought they could work well together. They formed a partnership in which Mr. Ferretti would produce and distribute Mr. Rodriguez's clothes, paying him royalties.

On several occasions, Mr. Rodriguez tried to end their contract but was told by his advisers, he said, that "it was the best that I could do." He also met with a host of potential investors in the hopes of freeing himself. They ranged from representatives of European fashion houses to a man who said he was a confidant of Queen Rania of Jordan and who proposed that Mr. Rodriguez do a separate label for Sarah Jessica Parker. "People always talk about how you need investors," Mr. Rodriguez said, "but they have no idea how hard it really is.” He laughed. "There are sharks out there."
Thanks to Anna Wintour's intervention, Narciso now has complete creative control over his line, while Liz Claiborne is his benevolent corporate overlord. Hey, you don't see the Juicy Couture founders complaining about being owned by Liz, now do you? The line is doing better than ever.

And they all live happily ever after in Fashion Heaven.

    Men Wearing Makeup

Forbes reports on the latest trend for men: wearing makeup.
Hey, men: Don't be surprised if very soon your toiletry kit contains not only shaving cream, deodorant and toothpaste, but concealer, oil-absorbing face powder and brow gel. That's because guys are relying on an increasing number of made-for-men products like these to put their best face forward.

"I think men are much more receptive to the whole grooming concept from start to finish. Makeup is sort of the final frontier," says Wendy Lewis, a beauty consultant and author of "The Beauty Battle: An Insider's Guide to Wrinkle Rescue and Cosmetic Perfection from Head to Toe." "They’re certainly concerned about camouflaging imperfections. The idea of a little light dusting of powder is no longer an extreme measure."

    *****

And while still not the norm, makeup — including products from Clinique, Clarins and Jean Paul Gaultier — has become a more common part of the male beauty routine. Walk into megastores like Sephora or Macy's and you'll find a variety of masculine beauty products including bronzer and face masks. Clarin’s Self-Tanning Gel for Men, for example, amps up skin color while evening out skin tone.
This is all because of David Beckham. He has truly led the way in male grooming. We're all for men embracing waxing, discreet unibrow tweezing, pedicures, manicures, sunblock, skin products, hair products, you name it. Just so long as he buys his own and keeps his mitts out of our La Mer cream. Because if we find that he's trying to put it on his feet again, we can't be responsible for our actions.

    Embracing the Super-Thin Cellphone

Photo of Nokia phonesThe Size 0 trend is sweeping the cellphone world, as well as the world of starving Hollywood starlets. Nokia is introducing two entry-level cellphones -- the Nokia 2630 and the 2760 -- one of which is the thinnest cellphone in the Nokia line. Both models offer camera phones, Bluetooth technology.

The 2630 (the photo on the left) is super-thin: it's only 9.9 mm. In addition to the camera, it also features email, MMS, calendar, a calculator, and an FM radio.

The 2760 is a flip-phone style with all the features of the 2630, It also features video recording, video playback, and GPRS. Both phones will be available in the third quarter of 2007 and the prices won't break the bank.

We used a Nokia on a trip to Europe last year, and it worked quite well. We've always been a fan of the flip-style phones, and the new 2760 looks like a good entry-level phone. After all, not everyone wants their phone to be able to do everything but make a cappucino for them. Although, now that we think about it, that would quite nice.
